Progress!
Quick updates:
1. Just secured a research grant for a discourse analysis project! I'm finally able to get a Macbook Air (i7) to replace my aging notebook.
2. I've been advised to apply for another research grant for my MCJ research. I might want to try the Malaysian Aids Council to see if they're offering any. In many ways, I'm so grateful to my supervisor at the Law Faculty, the Dean of the Medical Faculty as well as her associates from Yale and CERIA for being so helpful and patient with me.
3. 3 of my supervisees are doing exceptionally well. So proud of them. Hopefully they'd be done by the end of next semester.
4. I'm so glad that I presented my research to Prof Sarangi (an important and highly acclaimed academic in discourse analysis). I now have a clearer insight of my model of analysis. I hope I'd be able to publish my paper in the J. of Sociolinguitics in the near future.
5. Apart from doing research, I'm thankful to have been given the chance to conduct classes with some students from Korea and Afghanistan. Pay's pretty good - but I've to wait at least 3 months before I can receive my remuneration.
6. I've received a new jersey from the skating head instructor! Pretty awesome, to say the least. Can't wait to wear it on Sat and Sun.
