For the record, taking pics of yourself with a 50mm f/1.4 lens is no joke. I can't interface the 5D to the notebook due to some connection problems, so there is no instant feedback. It was pretty much of a challenge gauging the frame boundaries and the distance between me and the lens. I shot about 200 pictures and these were the ones that turned out pretty alright.
